Barite

Barite (BASO4) is a mineral containing barium sulfate . Barite is the main source of barium. This mineral is one of the minerals and is known by the formula: BaO: 65.7% SO3: 34.3% Sr, Pb.

The most important application of barite is in drilling oil and gas wells. Precipitated barium sulfate is used as a paint sealant, coating in the paper, rubber and linoleum industries. Barium chloride is used in the leather industry, textiles and barium carbonate as a glaze and ceramic polish. Barium oxides are used in the glass industry, electric furnaces and metallurgy, and Crushed barite is used directly as a coating for rubber and paint fluids. Crushed barite is used in the cement coating of underwater pipes for oil and gas transportation.
